Maps that are not in Counter-Strike 2, but everyone wants to see them again.

Cache Map for CS2

The map pool in Counter-Strike changes very rarely due to the emphasis on the competitive scene. Esports players already need to constantly prepare for upcoming matches and look for new ideas, and if the developers start constantly introducing new maps, this will make the training process simply unbearable. Nevertheless, Valve sometimes changes active maps in Counter-Strike. But the latest map pool changes do not particularly please fans, everyone has long dreamed of the return of iconic maps, and as a result we get Ancient and Anubis, as well as endless attempts to fix Vertigo. In this article, we will discuss the maps that are missing in Counter-Strike 2.

Cache

The Cache map in CS2 is awaited by a large part of the Counter-Strike community. Despite the failed remake, fans believe that FMPONE will not let the mapmaker down this time and will present a version of the map that will not be inferior to the original, which was one of the best locations in CS:GO. While the author is gradually sharing screenshots of the new Cache, and the map itself will be released only in 2025 and will most likely be included in the official map pool. At the moment, it is already known for sure that the map will be as close as possible to the classic version of Cache from 2013, and it will be created from scratch, using all the technologies of the Source 2 engine.

Train

Along with Cache, players are also eagerly awaiting the return of Train. The developers have already teased the community by showing the updated map in the trailer for Counter-Strike 2. However, it did not appear in either the closed beta test or the release version. A year has passed since the release of the game, and there is still no Train. The map does not need any special reworking, but it is worth adjusting the balance of the sides a little, because CT has always been stronger on it.

Cobblestone

Also, another map adored by the community was shown in the game files. Cobblestone has earned special love from fans of expensive skins and collectors. It is in the collection of this map that the very Dragon Lore is stored, which every Counter-Strike player clearly wants to get. According to the findings of data miners, we can assume that the map will be made in a winter style and should be expected in CS2 only for the New Year.

Tuscan

Several years have passed since the developers from Valve bought out the rights to the Tuscan map. However, we have not received the location in either CS:GO or CS2. It is unknown what plans Valve has for this map, but many players, especially experienced ones, would certainly like to play Tuscan again. It appeared only in the original Counter-Strike and briefly appeared in CS:GO during one of the operations.

Other maps that were not in the map pool

Players are also waiting for the return of not only maps created for tournaments, but also locations that have never been played at a professional level and in official matchmaking. These include Season, Shortdust and Canals. All of them found their audience and fans at one time, and Shortdust has long become a classic of short modes, but we have not seen its return to CS2 to this day.

Valve’s plans, as always, are kept in deep secret and we can only hope for dataminers’ findings. For now, we can only say with certainty about the return of Cache and Train in future updates. Let’s hope that the developers will not forget about the community’s favorite maps and will return them at least for a while in the first operation for Counter-Strike 2.
