The first half of 2024 in Counter-Strike 2 turned out to be eventful. We saw not only interesting tournaments with exciting confrontations and loud sensations, but also the rise of Team Spirit to the top of the competitive scene and the emergence of one of the most talented players in the world – Danil donk Kryshkovets. Also at the beginning of the year, Ilya m0NESY Osipov shone, unlike his team G2 Esports, which is experiencing enormous difficulties. The usual leader Mathieu ZywOo Herbaut has gone into the shadows and shows phenomenal results not so often, and his team was never able to win the championship in any of the tournaments, and PGL Major Copenhagen 2024 completely failed.

We decided to rank the top 20 best players in 2024 so far. In the final material we will share the choice of esportsmen for 1-10 places. To compile the rating, we had to take into account Rating 2.0 over the past months, the presence of MVP medals and significant achievements on the LAN.

10th place: Robin ropz Kool (FaZe Clan)

The top ten players of 2024 open with one of the best rifflers and clutchers of the dominant FaZe Clan – Robin ropz Kool. In CS2, his statistics are not as crazy as in CS:GO, but he often wins important rounds and matches for the team. The Estonian is already an accomplished player who can be noted for his stability and excellent individual performance.

9th place: Lotan Spinx Giladi (Team Vitality)

  • PGL Major Copenhagen 2024 – 3-4 place.

Despite the failures of Team Vitality, Mathieu ZywOo Herbaut does not play alone, as happened in the club’s previous lineups. Lotan Spinx Giladi constantly comes to his aid, who in a short time has become one of the best rifflers in the world and strives to do everything possible for the success of his team. While this does not lead Vitality to trophies in 2024, the team still has many important tournaments ahead.

8th place: Justinas jL Lekavicius (Natus Vincere)

Notable achievements at LAN for 2024:

  • PGL Major Copenhagen 2024 – 1st place.

Usually the MVP of a past major is much higher in the top of the best players, but Justinas jL Lekavicius has not yet deserved to be higher. He is a great player who allowed Natus Vincere to win the PGL Major Copenhagen 2024 as an underdog, but he still has a lot of work to do to prove that this triumph was a pattern of hard work and training, and not just a fluke. He has big ambitions, but he is unlikely to be able to climb into the top 5 best players in 2024.

7th place: David frozen Chernyansky (FaZe Clan)

In seventh place is a newcomer to FaZe Clan – David frozen Chernyansky. He had a great chance to get into the best team in the world and he is taking advantage of it 100 percent. Frozen is still just adapting to the team, but is already noted for its high level of individual play. The young talent can climb much higher if his team continues to dominate the professional scene and win several more major championships or even the Perfect World Shanghai Major 2024.

6th place: Jimi Jimpphat Salo (MOUZ)

Jimi Jimpphat Salo is spending his first full year on the competitive Counter-Strike scene after being unbanned by Valve. As a player who could not previously compete in tournaments, he performs excellently. Yes, he is still far from the main stars of the discipline, but he still often manages to amaze the whole world with crazy highlights and clutches that were impossible to win. When Jimi Jimpphat Salo gains experience, he could easily compete for the highest positions in the list of the best players of the year, but, most likely, not in 2024.

5th place: Dmitry sh1ro Sokolov (Team Spirit)

Everyone remembered Team Spirit because of the bright performance of Danil donk Kryshkovets, but the success of the team depended not only on him. A big contribution to this was made by the new sniper of the team – Dmitry sh1ro Sokolov, who escaped the captivity of Cloud9, in which he could not open up to the fullest and fight for trophies. Sokolov is one of the best snipers on the planet for a reason, and at past tournaments he proved that on the server he should be feared just like his hot young teammate.

4th place: Helvijs broky Saukants (FaZe Clan)

FaZe Clan’s sniper is often criticized for his passive playstyle, but nevertheless has good stats and contributes greatly to the continued success of the team, which has not sagged since moving to CS2. However, Helvijs broky Saukants is at the peak of his capabilities and he is unlikely to play better. In order to fight for the first three places, he needs to radically change his style and become an aggressive sniper, which may not benefit FaZe Clan.

3rd place: Ilya m0NESY Osipov (G2 Esports)

Notable achievements at LAN for 2024:

  • PGL Major Copenhagen 2024 – 3-4 place;
  • IEM Chengdu 2024 – 3-4 place.

The top three is opened by Ilya m0NESY Osipov. Of course, I wanted to rank him higher, watching his phenomenal performances and attempts to single-handedly drag the team to trophies, but Counter-Strike is a team game, and the top of the best players is formed not only because of their personal rating, but also from victories at major championships, which G2 Esports have not yet been able to win this year, and are unlikely to cope with this task until drastic changes in the composition. Ilya m0NESY Osipov deserved to be higher, but as a G2 player he didn’t.

2nd place: Mathieu ZywOo Herbaut (Team Vitality)

Notable achievements at LAN for 2024:

  • PGL Major Copenhagen 2024 – 3-4 place.

Mathieu ZywOo Herbaut is again in danger of remaining only the second best player this year. In 2024, Team Vitality does not look like such a formidable team as before and none of the tournaments have gone to their advantage. There were high expectations from the lineup at PGL Major Copenhagen 2024, but in the group stage, Mathieu ZywOo Herbaut became very ill and failed in individual performance, and without him Vitality could not show anything. 3-4 place at a major is a disgusting result for such a team and for ZywOo personally. 1st place: Danil donk Kryshkovets (Team Spirit)

Unexpectedly for everyone, this year Mathieu ZywOo Herbaut’s main rival was not even Oleksandr s1mple Kostyliev. This place was taken by the young and extremely ambitious Russian Danil donk Kryshkovets from Team Spirit. He is just starting his journey after leaving the club’s academy, but has already shown his best results in 2024. On the server, absolutely everyone is afraid of Kryshkovets, and the teams are not even playing against Team Spirit, but are starting to counter the young star of the team. However, donk has only performed in two tournaments and has yet to prove his superiority over the giants of the professional scene. And if he succeeds, he will deservedly become the best player in all of 2024.

Most of the presented esportsmen are not going to leave this top even at the end of the year and will compete with each other to climb higher. The top ten will most likely remain without drastic changes, but we are all waiting for the return of Oleksandr s1mple Kostyliev, who will clearly be burning with ambitions to finish the year in a high place among the best players. The main battle will be for the first three lines, which are unlikely to change. Everything will depend on how Ilya m0NESY Osipov, Mathieu ZywOo Herbaut and Danil donk Kryshkovets perform at the second major and other major championships.
