TOP 10 Counter-Strike 2 players
The transition to the updated version of Counter-Strike expectedly affected the balance of power on the eSports scene. Some top players lost their individual form, while others, on the contrary, began to play better. At the top now are the players who have spent more time learning a new discipline and constant practice. A perfect example of this trend is Oleksandr s1mple Kostyliev, who only plays FPL occasionally and has only played one professional match. The once best eSports player is no longer able to perform at the same level. In this article, we will discuss the best Counter-Strike 2 players and rank esports players based on their performance in the professional scene.
10th place: Justinas jL Lekavicius
The top of the best players is opened by the champion of the first CS2 major – Justinas jL Lekavicius from Natus Vincere. The esportsman has shown his best in the updated version of the shooter and has a 1.16 2.0 rating on HLTV over the past three months. This allowed him to receive the MVP medal at PGL Major Copenhagen 2024 and win important clutches in the championship playoffs. If Natus Vincere’s success continues in future tournaments, Justinas jL Lekavicius even has a chance to get into the top 20 players of the year according to HLTV.
9th place: Helvijs broky Saukants
Previously, the FaZe Clan sniper could be higher, but in CS2 he is not stable, and his 2.0 rating is only 1.17. Helvijs broky Saukants has never been a key part of FaZe, but in CS:GO he managed to perform more effectively. Despite the fact that the team has won many tournaments, the player has only 2 MVP medals, which is unusual for a sniper. However, broky is still one of the best players in this role in the entire professional scene, when he fully adapts to CS2, he is capable of making the list of the best esports athletes of the year.
8th place: Ludvig Brollan Brolin
After moving to MOUZ, one of the most talented young Swedish esports players was able to revive his career. Ludvig Brollan Brolin hasn’t been seen since 2022 when he moved to Ninjas in Pyjamas. At PGL Major Copenhagen 2024, he showed everything he could do in the new version of Counter-Strike and became the key to MOUZ’s victories at the Elimination Stage. The team once again failed in the playoffs, but Ludvig Brollan Brolin still managed to get a rating of 1.30 and take fourth place in the top statistical players for the entire championship. The team has enormous potential and Brollan can blossom with it.
7th place: Jimi Jimpphat Salo
Next comes another MOUZ player. Jimi Jimpphat Salo received a great opportunity from one of the top organizations, despite a VAC ban in his youth. Finn, at 17 years old, is the main star of the club, he amazed the world with his performance back in CS:GO, and after moving to CS2 he did not lose his condition – his 2.0 rating is 1.21. He failed the playoffs of the first major where he was able to play after the ban from Valve, but the journey of Jimi Jimpphat Salo is just beginning and he can prove himself in future tournaments.
6th place: Robin ropz Kool
Sixth place in this ranking goes to a FaZe Clan player. Robin ropz Kool has been playing for the club for a long time, but still makes a big contribution to its victories. The Estonian is the most stable member of the squad and rarely sags statistically. In CS2, he has already led the club to victories at IEM Sydney 2023 and CS Asia Championships 2023.
5th place: David frozen Chernyansky
The top 5 is opened by a newcomer to the FaZe Clan lineup. David frozen Chernyansky finally got a chance to prove himself in one of the best eSports clubs after several years in MOUZ. While he failed to become the champion of any major tournament in his new team, together with frozen FaZe again began to often reach the grand finals: at BLAST Premier World Final 2023, IEM Katowice 2024 and PGL CS2 Major Copenhagen 2024. But to finish the job They haven’t succeeded yet.
4th place: Dmitry sh1ro Sokolov
The newly acquired sniper of Team Spirit, Dmitry sh1ro Sokolov, is guaranteed to be in the top four. After moving from Cloud9, the esportsman blossomed with new colors and plays even better than before, despite the fact that he was already one of the best snipers in the world. This was certainly influenced by the friendly atmosphere in the team, but Dmitry sh1ro Sokolov’s personal skill still plays the greatest role here. Together with the newcomer, Team Spirit won IEM Katowice 2024. Sokolov’s 2.0 rating is 1.21 and he still has room to improve. Team Spirit is a young team that is just starting its journey on the professional scene.
3rd place: Mathieu ZywOo Herbaut
The best player on the planet lost ground and failed at PGL Major Copenhagen 2024, but he is unlikely to fall out of the top 3 yet. Considering the insane talent of Mathieu ZywOo Herbaut, we believe that he will still find himself in CS2, but so far he does not look like such a global threat as he used to be. Despite some problems, ZywOo’s 2.0 rating is an intimidating 1.35.
2nd place: Danil donk Kryshkovets
The first two places are the most difficult to distribute, but nevertheless, we will focus on the experience of performing at big tournaments. Danil donk Kryshkovets came out of nowhere and amazed the whole world, playing only 2 major LAN tournaments in his career. For 3 months it has an awesome rating of 2.0 – 1.51. Even after being eliminated in the quarterfinals of PGL Major Copenhagen 2024, he remained in second place among the best players of the championship. Danil donk Kryshkovets has huge potential, but to prove his superiority, he needs some distance in tournaments, and not a couple of successful performances.
1st place: Ilya m0NESY Osipov
The leadership in this ranking certainly goes to the young talent of G2 Esports – Ilya m0NESY Osipov. He was one of the first to study Counter-Strike 2 and has achieved great results since the game’s release. Despite the global failures of the team, m0NESY manages to have a rating of 2.0 – 1.40. He will definitely be in contention for the title of best player of the year along with Mathieu ZywOo Herbaut. The esports player just has to find a suitable team that can unleash his full potential. He has already become the best statistical player at PGL Major Copenhagen 2024, despite being eliminated in the semi-finals.
The year 2024 is just approaching its halfway point and the balance of power on the professional scene may change dramatically not only by its end, but also by the qualifiers for the RMR for the second major, which will be held in China. We can only watch the development of esportsmen in CS2 and the upcoming tournaments.
