Top 10 Cases to Open in CS2: Hunt for High-Value Drops Wisely (Part 2)

Top 10 Cases to Open in CS2: Hunt for High-Value Drops Wisely (Part 2)

We continue exploring the question, “Which case is the most profitable to open in CS2?” In this part, we’ll discuss the top five cases that are best suited for “Case Opening.” These containers contain some of the most expensive drops in the game, have reasonable opening costs, and the less valuable drops allow you to recover more money back into your Steam wallet with each loss.

5. Chroma Case #2 ROI 64.77%

5. Chroma Case #2 ROI 64.77%
  • Most Valuable Items:
    – Knives (Bayonet, M9 Bayonet, Karambit) in the skins “Tiger Tooth,” “Marble Fade,” “Doppler” with rare patterns Ruby, Sapphire, Black Pearl.

The Chroma Case contains one of the most sought-after collections of knives in Counter-Strike, which contributes to its high ROI. Despite its popularity and the demand for its contents beyond the knives, the case’s price hasn’t skyrocketed.

The items in this case are well-chosen, with many of them being widely used by players. The AWP | Worm God, AK-47 | Elite Build, Galil | Eco, and M4A4 | Dragon King are among the most common choices in their categories. Since their release, these skins have been beloved by the community and were popular during the early days of CS skin culture.

As for the main treasures, the knives with Doppler patterns on the “classic” models, we’ve already discussed their demand and value in previous Chroma Case editions.

4. CS Weapon Case #3 ROI 66.34%

4. CS Weapon Case #3 ROI 66.34%
  • Most Valuable Items:
    – Knives (Bayonet, M9 Bayonet, Karambit) in the skins “Crimson Web,” “Fade,” “Case Hardened” with rare Blue Gem patterns.

The CS Weapon Case #3 isn’t the most obvious choice in this category. The case is quite expensive, and aside from the knives, it seems there isn’t much else of value. There are two CZ75-Auto skins in Classified and Covert quality that have never been highly valued, and many are puzzled as to why they are so expensive. Some may even question whether it’s possible to sell such a device for $60 or more.

In reality, the CZ75-Auto | The Fuschia Is Now skin is actively used for crafting Covert quality items. We won’t delve into the details of crafting, chances, and other nuances here, but the main reason for the demand for this skin is that the collection includes only one Covert weapon. Therefore, it is very profitable to use it to increase your chances of obtaining another Covert item, and the CZ75-Auto | The Fuschia Is Now acts as a balancing factor. As crafting remains popular, and such skins become scarcer by the day, their price will only continue to rise, as will the ROI.

3. Prisma 2 Case ROI 67.19%

3. Prisma 2 Case ROI 67.19%
  • Most Valuable Items:
    – Knives (Talon, Ursus, Stiletto) in the skins “Tiger Tooth,” “Marble Fade,” “Doppler” with rare patterns Ruby, Sapphire, Black Pearl.

We’re getting into the top three, and here we have a case with relatively new knives but with rare patterns that haven’t yet been included in the Shattered Web collection. A huge advantage of this case is that it only contains four types of knives, with only one being less valuable (the Navaja knife). In the Chroma or Weapon Cases, there are five types of golden items, where two are less appealing to the audience.

The undisputed leader is the Talon Knife, which looks great with all the skins in the collection due to its shape, reminiscent of a Karambit, and its unique ivory handle. The only downside of the Talon Knives is that they can have significant wear defects in the form of scratches on the blade, even on “Factory New” models. Because of this, completely clean versions add a significant amount to the final price.

2. CS Weapon Case #2 ROI 69.4%

2. CS Weapon Case #2 ROI 69.4%
  • Most Valuable Items:
    – Knives (Bayonet, M9 Bayonet, Karambit) in the skins “Crimson Web,” “Fade,” “Case Hardened” with rare Blue Gem patterns.
    – SSG 08 | Blood in the Water

One of the most expensive cases in the selection, costing nearly $17 per opening. It may seem like an unjustified expense with slim chances of getting a decent return, but the statistics don’t lie. This case has a similar situation to the third CS

Weapon Case—a crafting item in Classified quality, but with a more interesting upgrade in the form of SSG 08 | Blood in the Water. Unlike the single Covert weapon in the third edition, this rifle is worth more than half of the knives, and the drop chance from the case is only higher.

Also, Five-SeveN | Case Hardened in rare patterns can be quite expensive. Of course, we’re not talking about five or six-figure sums like we’re used to hearing about with AK-47s or knives, but you can certainly expect a markup of 10-20 times.

1. Prisma Case ROI 74.57%

  • Most Valuable Items:
    – Knives (Talon, Ursus, Stiletto) in the skins “Tiger Tooth,” “Marble Fade,” “Doppler” with rare patterns Ruby, Sapphire, Black Pearl.
    – M4A4 | The Emperor

And the absolute leader in terms of case content versus opening cost is the Prisma Case. We think there’s no need to explain much more—just like in many cases with previous similar series, the difference is due to the more expensive weapon drops.

This includes the M4A4 | The Emperor, AWP | Atheris, and other items that guarantee at least a break-even after the cost of purchasing the key and case. The case itself costs less than a dollar, which, compared to other cases, can be considered almost “free,” and most of the opening cost is in the key. Since keys for all cases are priced the same, this pricing allows Prisma to be the most profitable among the others.
