The Counter-Strike 2 competitive season in 2024 is rich in colorful tournaments, dynamic matches and high-profile sensations and events. However, apart from the unexpected victories of Team Spirit at IEM Katowice 2024 and Natus Vincere at PGL Major Copenhagen 2024, we did not see diversity among the champions of the largest tournaments; most of the important titles were taken by FaZe Clan and MOUZ. But there are still many worthy contenders on the world stage who cannot yet reach the desired goal in 2024. Virtus.pro
One of the most promising teams is still Virtus.pro. She is experiencing great difficulties in the process of restructuring the composition, but has enormous potential after the addition of Denis electroNic Sharipov. At IEM Dallas 2024, he was already able to open up and show the same level of play, but the team is still only at the beginning of its journey. She doesn’t have enough time for full training due to her busy schedule, so it’s too early to draw conclusions about the team. Moreover, the club got rid of its coach Dastan dastan Akbaev. A new mentor can bring a fresh perspective to the team’s problems and help correct them.
Team Vitality
Unlike Virtus.pro, Team Vitality is already the same team that is already at the top of the professional scene. She successfully competes in tournaments, but so far she has not been able to complete the task. Mathieu ZywOo Herbaut’s talent is no longer enough to win matches on his own, so it’s time for the rest of the team to take on some of the responsibility and help their main star reach his first trophy in 2024. The team was already close to the coveted trophy at ESL Pro League Season 19, but in the grand final they could not cope with the dominant MOUZ. Sooner or later, Team Vitality will start winning trophies again, but apparently this still requires time and hard training.
Astralis
Astralis with the updated lineup were also close to victories. But so far the team has not managed to reach the semifinals, although it manages to beat the favorites at earlier stages. At ESL Pro League Season 19, the team lost to Team Vitality, and at the CCT Global Finals 2024 they failed against Team Liquid. At IEM Chengdu 2024 they were also stopped in 3-4 place, but already by FaZe Clan. Perhaps Nicolai device Reedtz needs more time to get used to the role of captain, but the team is already showing great progress after the failure at RMR for PGL Major Copenhagen 2024.
HEROIC
Before the latest changes, HEROIC did not claim titles, but the transfer of Abdul degster Gasanov changed everything. Now the team has a stable and promising sniper who can allow it to gain a foothold on the tier-1 scene and win several tournaments. Even with a replacement in the person of Nico nicoodoz Tamjidi, the team was able to reach the playoffs of IEM Dallas 2024, which means that the results with a permanent sniper will be even better. So far, Abdul degster Hasanov is just returning to his form after a long period of inactivity, but he is already performing at the level of the best players in his position.
G2 Esports
So far, it’s hard to believe in the victories of G2 Esports, but one can never write off a team that includes not only Ilya m0NESY Osipov, but also Nikola NiKo Kovac. There have been a lot of rumors about the sniper leaving after the current competitive season, so perhaps G2 will want to take all their strength and slam the door, taking away one of the last championships with their star player. In the playoffs of IEM Dallas 2024, the team will meet with FaZe Clan and with a stand-in in the person of Jake Stewie2k Yip, who replaces Rasmus HooXi Nielsen. It is at this tournament that G2 Esports don’t have many chances, but they will have the public on their side, which will clearly support their compatriot.
In 2024, a huge number of different tournaments await us. We are currently at a stage where none of the teams have managed to establish their own era.
