Snax is the new captain of G2 Esports. What to expect from the team?
G2 Esports have finally named the fifth player of their Counter-Strike 2 roster. Unexpectedly for everyone, after the kick of Rasmus HooXi Nielsen, the club decided to take a new captain, and not make Nikola NiKo Kovac, which would have been a fairly logical decision. This would make it possible to get a first-class defensive player, but the Bosnian does not yet want to take on captaincy duties again. The new leader of G2 Esports is Janusz Snax Pogorzelski. This transfer shocked everyone; no one even thought about such an outcome. Negative aspects of the Snax transfer
Janusz Snax Pogorzelski left Virtus.pro back in December 2019 and after that he did not play in tier-1 teams at a high level. Perhaps he is no longer able to pull off the tier-1 stage, because the Pole is already 30 years old. Before the first G2 games, the big question is, will this really be a strengthening of the roster or will the result be the same? The very fact is that at such a great age for esports, Janusz Snax Pogorzelski ended up in one of the best teams in the world.
Also, a conflict of positions will be a big problem for G2 Esports. To adjust the game to the newcomers to the roster, the team will have to change something. And it is not a fact that these changes will have a positive impact on the personal performance of each player. Both Janusz Snax Pogorzelski and Mario malbsMd Samayoa, as well as other players, can sink. A plus for G2 Esports will be the fact that Nikola NiKo Kovac will not become captain in the near future. He still has great ambitions in his position and it is too early for him to move into the role of IGL. The Bosnian’s previous captaincy experience ended in failure and led to the collapse of one of the best FaZe Clan lineups. This story could repeat itself now in G2 Esports.
The G2 Esports roster looks stronger on paper than the previous one, but the team still has some positioning issues to resolve. It is also not known how the aged Janusz Snax Pogorzelski will perform at tier-1 tournaments. The same question arises for another newcomer to the team – Mario malbsMd Samayoa. Unlike the captain, he is quite young and has not yet played in many major championships. He has an insane personal performance but still needs big stage experience.
