Overpass, Train Updates, New Stickers & Performance Boost in CS2

In the latest update for CS2, timed with the Shanghai Major, Valve made several significant changes, including updates to stickers, map improvements, and bug fixes. Let’s dive into the key updates.

Sticker Updates and Pick’Em Challenges

One of the most notable changes is the update to the MIBR team stickers. The autographs from Lucaozy have now been replaced with autographs from the new player – brnz4n. Additionally, a UI bug has been fixed that allowed players to place Pick’Em team logos outside of the Major hub using both mouse buttons. New Pick’Em challenges are now available for the upcoming Elimination Stage of the Shanghai Major​.

Damage Prediction Fixes

Valve has also made an update to the damage prediction system. Now, predicted ragdolls that do not receive confirmation from the server within a short time window will revert. This change helps avoid situations where the physics of the game do not match the intended result​.

Map Updates

  • Train has received improvements in collision fidelity for several models, making interactions with objects on the map more accurate. This change will help players more precisely calculate movement and shooting trajectories, reducing issues with collisions​.
  • Overpass also saw several changes. The railing inside Heaven has been replaced with a wall, and additional visibility improvements were made in the Heaven area. These changes improve the map’s functionality, especially for players who frequently use high-ground positions for tactical plays​.
  • The Edin and Palais maps were updated to the latest versions from the Community Workshop. These updates bring enhancements to gameplay and visual experience, aligning them with the latest community-driven improvements​.

Other notable fixes include the “boost player contrast” visibility option, which previously revealed parts of players or weapons through thin surfaces. A new setting, r_allow_low_gpu_memory_mode, was also added, allowing CS2 Workshop tools to run under low GPU memory conditions​.
