Main foreign players of PGL Major Copenhagen 2024: Asia RMR

Aleksei El1an Gusev, JiJieHao CS2 player

PGL Major Copenhagen 2024: Asia RMR started on February 26th. Unlike the European qualifiers, the tournament uses a completely different system. It will not feature the Swiss system familiar to viewers: qualifications are held in a traditional format with an upper and lower bracket, and only 8 teams will take part in the battle for two slots. But what makes the Asian RMR interesting is not this fact, but its participants.

Among the representatives of this scene there are several legionnaires from all over the world, whom you will definitely want to watch. In this material we will talk about each of them, as well as the chances of their teams to qualify for PGL Major Copenhagen 2024.

JiJieHao – 3 Russians and a Jordanian

The most interesting team for the CIS region at PGL Major Copenhagen 2024: Asia RMR is JiJieHao. The team is a familiar international mix, assembled specifically to participate in the Asian qualifiers. The core of the team consisting of Vadim DavCost Vasilyev, Issa ISSAA Murad and Hussein m1N1 Hijazi assembled only 3 months ago. Later, the team acquired a Russian coach, Evgeny bullet Batkin, and in January, Aleksei El1an Gusev and Davy ViTaL Boulos joined the roster. JiJieHao easily passed the open qualifiers for RMR, from which she came out in first place, but in the closed stage she only managed to take second place. In the opening match at PGL Major Copenhagen 2024: Asia RMR, the team lost to TYLOO and will continue to play in the lower bracket.

DavCost

One of the key players in the JiJieHao lineup was Russian Vadim DavCost Vasilyev. He has represented the club since the roster was founded in November 2023. But the sniper’s career in the Asian region began even earlier: since August 2022, he was already playing in one of the squads of an organization called JiJieHao International with compatriot Dmitriy facecrack Alekseyev. Already in December, the cooperation between the club and the roster ceased, after which in February 2023 the team moved under the banner of Invictus International and played for it until November, and after the closure of the division returned to JiJieHao.

Vadim DavCost Vasilyev, JiJieHao CS2 player at PGL Major Copenhagen 2024: Asia RMR

In the Asian region, Vadim DavCost Vasilyev has not yet achieved significant results, the first of which could be PGL Major Copenhagen 2024: Asia RMR. But the esportsman was remembered by the community long before the change of region. He attended five majors and played for such renowned organizations as FlipSid3 Tactics and Team Spirit. In 2015, he managed to play in one of the first FlipSid3 lineups before the arrival of Oleksandr s1mple Kostyliev, and Vasilyev’s teammates were Yegor markeloff Markelov and Andrey B1ad3 Gorodenskiy. Unfortunately, at ESL One Katowice 2015, ESL One Cologne 2015 and DreamHack Open Cluj-Napoca 2015, the lineup with DavCost failed to make it past the group stage, but the esportsman gained important experience of performing at major tournaments and income from stickers. He managed to return to Valve events only in 2018 with Team Spirit. The successes at FACEIT Major 2018 and IEM Katowice 2019 were also dismal, but for that roster, participation in the majors itself was important, and not high positions in the standings.

El1an

The second Russian in the lineup, JiJieHao, also did not achieve high positions in the majors. Aleksei El1an Gusev was able to take part only in PGL Major Stockholm 2021 and took 9-11th place there, but he is remembered for other tournaments as part of Entropiq, for which he played from May 2021 to November 2022 and even took part in ESL Pro League Season 15 The club did not take high positions in the championships, but was well-known in the CIS community, largely thanks to El1an.

After Entropiq, Aleksei Gusev’s career died down a bit; he managed to play for K23 and FORZE, but without much results. Unlike Vadim DavCost Vasilyev, JiJieHao is El1an’s first experience on the Asian stage.

ISSAA

The most star player on the roster is Jordanian Issa ISSAA Murad. The esportsman attracted a lot of attention while playing for HellRaisers from 2017 to 2019. Together with the team, he even managed to take 5-8 place at FACEIT Major 2018, where in the quarterfinals the team lost to one of the best squads, Team Liquid. After that, HR returned to IEM Katowice 2019 and StarLadder Major 2019, but not with such a good result. In addition to the majors, the roster with ISSAA took 3rd place at the SL i-League Invitational Shanghai 2017, 3-4th place at the V4 Future Sports Festival 2018 and 2nd at DreamHack Open Tours 2018.

After HellRaisers, Issa Murad could not find himself in OG and Eternal Fire, and in 2022 he moved to Valorant. The player also did not achieve significant results in the new discipline and returned to CS2 as one of the first members of the JiJieHao roster.

bullet

Little is known about coach JiJieHao and he cannot note any important achievements. Evgeny bullet Batkin is 37 years old, during his coaching career he has represented only INDE IRAE and GMT Esports, and was also an assistant coach at Aurora. All victories of the bullet teams came in online tournaments and the Russian never competed at a LAN championship.

This debut came at PGL Major Copenhagen 2024: Asia RMR. It is still difficult to say how useful Evgeny Batkin will be for the team, but the presence of a coach is already a positive trend for an international team that may have problems with communication.

Twisted Minds – Dutch, Polish and French

Another team with foreign players at PGL Major Copenhagen 2024: Asia RMR turned out to be Twisted Minds. Unlike JiJieHao, the active roster was assembled only during the qualifications for the major. During their conduct, they already managed to yield to their counterparts twice. The team could only take 4th place, but still qualified for the RMR.

D0cC

The main star of Twisted Minds is Dutch streamer Shuaib D0cC Ahmad. He is not famous for his rich esports career; his main achievement was his games on FPL, after which the community paid attention to the young man. In 2018, FACEIT administrators even considered him a cheater and he had to play several matches in the company’s office to prove his innocence. D0cC did not want to become an esportsman of his own accord, despite his great ambitions. Many professional players noted Shuaib Ahmad’s talent, but since 2018 he has only played online for Defusekids, POGGERZ and Unluko5.

Twisted Minds is not a significant team for D0cC; most likely, he plays for the team more for fun than to achieve any results. But for the club he plays a big role in media terms, as Shuaib Ahmad is still one of the most successful content creators in CS2.

day0s and m4tthi

The latest foreign players at PGL Major Copenhagen 2024: Asia RMR are Paul day0s Niel and Mateus m4tthi Chambelan. The Pole and the Frenchman did not show any results on the professional stage and played only for small teams in online tournaments. And Niel’s career generally began only in 2023, despite the player’s age – he is now 26 years old.

Both teams started at PGL Major Copenhagen 2024: Asia RMR not very successfully and ended up in the lower bracket, where they will have to play a head-to-head match for elimination from qualification. Judging by personal meetings and the level of players, JiJieHao has a better chance of survival. But a difficult road ahead awaits her; in the second match, one of the favorites of RMR – Grayhound with Christopher dexter Nong, who has returned to the Australian region, is already waiting for them. The first slot at PGL Major Copenhagen 2024 will go to the winner of the meeting between TheMongolz and Lynn Vision, and the rest of the teams will have to fight for the last ticket to the main tournament of the spring; the competition for it will be serious.
